Companies that take part in Voluntary Certification have been sent the inventory form. This form must be returned at once after which the financial contribution for certification is calculated. After invoicing and only after payment has been made, certification can be determined definitively on the basis of audit visits of Audit Office Animal Sector (CBD), which take place starting end of April. Moreover all participating stallion owners need to carry out a CEM and sperm test on a yearly basis, before the fertilisation season starts and for each stallion at the company present.

Companies submitting an application for Voluntary Certification stallion owners for the first time must contact the office of the PVE (Productschappen for Cattle, meat and eggs) at Zoetermeer, tel. 079-3687549 (Marieke van Lent or Pascalle the Ruyter). The office will handle the application; subsequently the Association is contacted by the PVE on the practical follow up.

So, mare owners do not choose only a fine stallion, but also:
-  check on the health of the stallion in the interest of your mare.
-  check on the fertilising capacity of the stallion and therefore a better chance on a foal.
